Seven Small Good Things
Tiny joys helping me right now
Thanks for reading and hitting the ❤️ at the bottom of my posts. This helps others find Everyday Natalie 🌸 I appreciate you!
My post is short and sweet today. 🥰
I recently read this piece on Cup of Jo, What Are Some Small Good Things in Your Life Right Now? Joanna writes, “It’s hard to know what to say when so much is happening in and around our lives, and the news is so consuming. To take a deep breath together, I’d love to ask you: what are the good things you’re holding close?” I sat down to scribble out a list and wanted to share it with you.
Seven Small Good Things
Homemade Focaccia- I hadn’t made this in a long time and had forgotten how simple but delicious it is! Baking keeps both my hands and mind occupied.
Three Little Lambs- My husband and I stopped by a friend’s new home, and I was surprised to see all the farm animals he had on the acre behind his house. I wandered around to look at them and came across the sweetest little lambs. These adorable babies followed their mama closely, stopped to drink milk, and skipped about. They were a delight to watch.
Daily NYT Games- Every day, I look forward to solving puzzles to boost my mental fitness and relieve stress.
Cloth Napkins- I’ve enjoyed using cloth napkins lately. They can elevate even the simplest of meals and make dinner more fun.
Cat Snuggles- Our elderly cat is so affectionate and loves to cuddle. She’s a purring machine, and though I’m slightly allergic to cats, I can’t help but pet her soft fur.
Soft Pajamas- A friend gifted me the softest pajama bottoms for Christmas. They’re very cozy and comfortable.
Heated Neck Wrap- My daughter gifted me a heated neck wrap years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I heat it in the microwave most mornings and wrap it around my neck while I read. It feels like a little warm hug.
“Maybe it’s not about having a beautiful day, but about finding beautiful moments. Maybe a whole day is just too much to ask. I could choose to believe that in every day, in all things, no matter how dark and ugly, there are shards of beauty if I look for them.”

Sharing
These seven things I shared are tiny bright spots in the midst of difficult times. I can hardly watch or read the news without feeling heartbroken. Closer to home, loved ones are experiencing some challenges, so jotting down simple pleasures keeps my eyes fixed on little happy things. My faith, prayer, time with my family, conversations with friends, and small joys keep me grounded. I think it helps to share the little things that are getting us through life right now. It’s encouraging and inspiring.

Love these, Natalie – and nodding along, particularly with the cat snuggles, homemade focaccia – Will makes this and it’s so gorgeous, loaded with rosemary! - and I just picked up some really pretty cloth napkins in the M&S sale. Oh, and yes to snuggly PJ’s! So, basically, ditto everything!! 😍💕
Hi Natalie! Beautiful post! Some of the little things I'm grateful for are: leftover spaghetti for dinner so I don't have to cook, the instrumental music of William Augusto on Spotify, and small scented candles. These things make my day xx
