Thanksgiving is just a day away, and as I began preparing for our feast, I paused to reflect on all the blessings in my life. Each year, after we’ve finished our turkey dinner, everyone at our table says five things for which they are thankful. I’m sharing eight of mine here, but the list could easily be much longer. While my life isn’t perfect or without hardships, I can always count my blessings. 💛 I want to give thanks with a grateful heart.
My Gratitude List :
1. Faith
My faith in Jesus is central to who I am. It guides my decisions, thoughts, and actions. God is the source of my hope and security, the wellspring of my joy and love. ✝️
2. Marriage
I have a gem of a husband! He is a godly man who is kind, generous, joyful, patient, and gentle. He loves me unconditionally, treats me like a queen, and shows me I’m cherished. ❤️
3. Family
I’m so thankful for my beautiful family. Tony and I have three incredible (adult) children- all married to wonderful people. My family means everything to me. 💟
4. Friendship
I’m blessed with beautiful friendships. Some friends I see often, others more infrequently, and a few only via technology. There are friends I’ve known since high school, others for a few decades, and some for only a few years. No matter the length, each friendship is important to me and dear to my heart. 🥰
5. Travel
I love discovering new places and revisiting ones that captured my heart before. Tony and I are in a season of life now where we can travel more freely and take advantage of that when we can. Traveling has always been an important part of our marriage, and we will continue for as long as possible. I recognize traveling is a privilege, and I’m so grateful for that. 🧳
6. Health
I’ve been intentional about health and wellness for several years and am so very thankful for the results. Though Long Covid interferes with my energy now and again, longevity is the goal. 💪🏻
7. Glimmers
These are the tiny moments of awe. Glimmers are little things that spark joy and bring a smile to our faces. Some recent glimmers that made me grateful: 💫
Listening to birds singing happily after the rain stopped
Watching my grandpup chase after a ball
Seeing the joy on a child’s face after he read a problematic word without help
The warm, soft blanket my friend packed in her car for a little road trip
Witnessing a spectacular sunrise and a rainbow
8. You
I’m thankful for you, my readers and followers. It’s a joy to write in this little corner of the internet and share anecdotes about my life, recommendations, fun finds, and what I’ve learned. Encouraging and inspiring you about the everyday things of life is an honor, and I’m grateful for your support. Thank you for being here. 🌸
I absolutely love your list! 💜 I also LOVE "glimmers." I'm so grateful for God's provision and the gift of salvation that's been given through Jesus. I'm also thrilled my daughter and her family have moved back to California this year, and I am able to see my granddaughters more often. I'm grateful for a beautiful place to live, my sweet and energetic toddler, music, and my job. I'm also thankful to be in a relationship with a good man who values and cares about both me and Gianna.
What a beautiful list, sending love and prayers for a beautiful and blessed Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family. Thankful for our friendship across the miles! 🥰🤗
